JO 2016 : Etats-Unis, Mexique, Canada, Honduras, le dernier carré en CONCACAF
Les quatre demi-finalistes du tournoi CONCACAF qualificatif pour les JO de Rio en 2016 sont connus. Les États-Unis ont terminé en tête du groupe A et seront opposés au Honduras. Le Mexique après avoir dominé le groupe B devra affronter le Canada. On vous rappelle que les deux finalistes seront directement qualifiés pour le Brésil. Les deux sélections vaincues s’affronteront pour la petite finale. L’équipe qui montera sur la troisième marche du podium aura le droit d’affronter la Colombie lors d’un match de barrage.
Américains et Mexicains ont réalisé le carton plein lors de la phase de groupe. Les USA se sont imposés contre le Canada (3-1), Cuba (6-1) et Panama (4-0). Avec treize réalisations, les hommes d’Andi Herzog ont prouvé combien ils savaient être efficaces. A ce titre Jérôme Kiesewetter et Jordan Morris, tous deux présents au Festival 2015, sont en tête du classement des buteurs avec trois buts à leur actif.
Les Mexicains ont frappé un grand coup d’entrée en infligeant une correction au Costa Rica (4-0). En revanche, les hommes de Raul Guttierez ont éprouvé plus de difficulté contre Haïti (1-0) et le Honduras (2-1). Les demi-finales se dérouleront les 10 et 11 octobre. 2016 Olympic Games : USA, Mexico, Canada, Honduras qualified for the semi-finals stage of the CONCACAF qualifying tournament
Honduras, USA, Mexico and Canada advanced to the semi-finals stage of the CONCACAF Olympic qualifying tournament. As a reminder, the two finalists of this tournament will qualify for the 2016 Olympic Games while the third-placed team will advance to the CONCACAF–CONMEBOL play-off where they will face to Colombia.
Americans and Mexicans finished at the top of their group. USA have beaten Canada (3-1), Cuba (6-1) and Panama (4-0). The Andi Herzog's squad was impressive as the "USMNT" scored 13 goals in 3 games. It should be noted that the two top scorers of this qualifying tournament are Jérôme Kiesewetter and Jordan Morris (3 goals), who both took part in the 2015 Toulon Tournament.
The Mexicans made a convincing start as they hammered Costa Rica (4-0) but the Raul Gutierrez's squad has managed two though wins then against Haïti (1-0) and Honduras (2-1). The semi-finals will be played the October 10 and 11.
