Pas de vainqueur entre le Costa Rica et le Qatar
La première période n’est pas très vivante mais les deux équipes ont cependant chacune eu l’occasion de prendre l’avantage lors de ce premier acte. Les Qatariens ont cru ouvrir le score sur un tir d’Al-Harazi (QAT, 12) mais Parker (CRC, 18) sauve la mise pour les siens grâce à une belle détente.
Juste avant la pause, Ramirez (CRC, 7) a failli inscrire le plus beau du tournoi mais son retourné acrobatique dans la surface a heurté le poteau !
En seconde période, le scenario est différent puisque le Qatar prend rapidement l’avantage. Après 45 minutes de jeu, Alaeeldin.M (QAT, 17) adresse un superbe centre en direction d’Al-Salemi (QAT, 3) qui ouvre le score d’une belle tête plongeante !
Dans la foulée, le Qatar est proche de faire le break mais le tir puissant d’Al-Saeed (QAT, 4) s’écrase sur la barre. L’équipe asiatique va regretter ce manque d’efficacité puisque le Costa Rica va égaliser. Lassiter (CRC, 17) convertit un centre de Ruiz (CRC, 11) pour remettre les deux équipes à égalité. Le score ne changera plus et le Qatar va même finir la rencontre à dix puisque Alob (QAT, 15) est expulsé juste avant la fin.

Costa Rica and Qatar share the spoils
Before the kick-off, Costa Rica needed a win to qualify for the 3rd place play-off while the Qataris were already eliminated. The Costa Ricans didn’t reached their aim as they lost against Qatar.
The first half is not very lively. Despite this, each side had the opportunity to take the lead during the first forty minutes. Al-Harazi (QAT, 12) powered a shot towards the top corner but his effort was parried away by Parker (CRC, 18).
Juste before the half time, Ramirez (CRC, 7) was near to score the most beautiful goal of the tournament but his acrobatic volley hit the post.
In the second half, the scenario is different as Qatar took the lead after 45 minutes. Al-Salemi (QAT,3) scored with a diving header from Alaeeldin.M’s (QAT, 17) cross.
Few minutes later, Qatar was close to take a two-goal advantage but the Al-Saeed’s (QAT, 4) hit the crossbar.
The Asian side regretted this lack of efficiency because Costa Rica equalized after 67 minutes. Lassiter (CRC, 17) scored after a Ruiz’s (CRC, 11) cross. The score will not change and Qatar will finish the game with ten players as Alob (QAT, 15) was sent off just before the end of the game.
